Adult education is usually any type of learning that adults continue beyond the traditional years of schooling. However, sometimes it is also about teaching adult literacy, about helping adults learn to read even the simplest of texts. Those entering the field of adult education may work teaching in public schools, as professors, lecturers or instructors in colleges and universities.
